Chinese Medicine Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is a therapeutic technique that can be carried out by itself, or together with needling and moxibustion, to benefit various conditions. It can encourage the flow of Qi and Blood to an area to treat local stagnation, warm areas, and expel pathogens such as cold, wind or damp.

In Australia, Chinese Medicine Board of Australia’s (CMBA) Infection prevention and control guidelines for acupuncture practice, National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Australian guidelines for the prevention and control of infection in healthcare and Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association Ltd (AACMA)’s Infection Control guidelines for Acupuncture have stipulated regulations and procedures to ensure that the art of cupping is practiced and administered safely and effectively.
